How the 14-day Pro trial works

Sign up and Pro is switched on right away for 14 days. There's no card to enter, so nothing is charged when the trial ends. You'll get a reminder email before it's over. Then subscribe to Pro, or do nothing and your account moves to the free plan with all your invoices and estimates kept.

Online payment fees, plainly

Taking card or bank payments on your invoices is optional. When a client pays online, Stripe charges its processing fee (about 2.9% + 30¢ for cards, less for bank transfers) and PunchDocs adds 1% on Pro or 2.5% on the free plan. Money goes to your own Stripe account. You can still take checks, cash, or Zelle and record them yourself. How online payments work

Crews and multi-tech shops

Each PunchDocs plan covers one account today. A company plan for shops with several techs isn't available yet. If your shop would use one, email sales@jandjtechserv.com and tell us how many techs you run.

How PunchDocs compares on price and scope

PunchDocs is an estimate and invoice app with simple books. It isn't a full field-service or accounting suite, and that's on purpose: you pay for what a small crew uses.

  • QuickBooks Online is full accounting software, with bank feeds, payroll options, and double-entry books. If you need those, it's the stronger fit. If you mainly need to quote, invoice, and get paid from the truck, PunchDocs is simpler and costs less. PunchDocs vs QuickBooks
  • Jobber is a field-service platform with scheduling, dispatch, routing, a client hub, and per-user team plans. PunchDocs has no scheduling or dispatch; it focuses on estimates, invoices, and payments at a lower monthly price. PunchDocs vs Jobber
  • Housecall Pro is a home-service platform with online booking, scheduling and dispatch, a price book, and team plans. PunchDocs doesn't do booking or dispatch; it's for techs who want quick estimates and invoices without a full operations suite. PunchDocs vs Housecall Pro

Questions

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The free plan and the 14-day Pro trial need no card. You only enter a card if you choose to subscribe to Pro.

Will my Pro price go up?

Not while your subscription stays active. If prices change later, they apply to new subscriptions only. If you cancel or your subscription lapses, you'd rejoin at the price at that time.

Is there a long-term contract?

No. Pro is month to month. Cancel yourself from your Plan page any time.

Do I have to download an app?

No. PunchDocs runs in your phone, tablet, or computer browser. On a phone, use "Add to Home Screen" to open it like an app.

Is PunchDocs the same as Patchdocs?

No. PunchDocs (punchdocs.com) is an estimate and invoice app for contractors and field techs, built by J&J Technical Services in Texas. Patchdocs is an unrelated network-documentation product from a different company. The two aren't affiliated.

Who's behind PunchDocs?

J&J Technical Services, a Central Texas low-voltage contractor. We built it for our own jobs first.
